History
From yesteryear to the present day
The Englhof - in the earlier years still called "Gasthaus Engel" - was taken over by the Hotter - Außerladscheider family in 1976 and has developed into a comfortable but still familiar hotel (3rd generation). In recent years, our hotel has been lovingly renovated piece by piece, starting with the rooms and suites, the reception area, the dining room, the hotel bar and finally the entire exterior facade with new balconies, windows and everything that goes with it. The Alpine Spa wellness area is also brand new!

The Hotter-Außerladscheider family took over the Englhof in 1976. Since then, the hotel has been run with great personal commitment and continuously developed over the years. Today, the Englhof is already in the hands of the third generation of the family.
The Englhof was originally known as "Gasthaus Engel". Over the decades, the property was gradually extended, modernised and adapted to meet the standards of a contemporary hotel. In this way, the traditional inn developed into today’s 3-star superior hotel in the Zillertal.
As part of the hotel’s ongoing development, numerous areas have been renovated and extended. These include the guest rooms, reception area, dining room, hotel bar, façade and various lounge areas. The addition of the Alpine Spa also created a modern wellness area for guests.
Personal contact with guests remains an important part of the Englhof experience. As a family-run hotel, the Englhof is characterised by attentive, personal service and a genuine connection with its guests. This welcoming atmosphere shapes a stay just as much as the hotel’s culinary offering and its location for exploring the Zillertal.
Today, the Englhof combines comfortable rooms and suites with regional and international cuisine, wellness in the Alpine Spa and a multi-award-winning cocktail bar. The offering is complemented by its central location in the Zillertal and its proximity to a wide range of leisure activities in the Zillertal Arena.
Despite continuous modernisation, the Englhof has preserved its distinctive character. Tradition, personal hospitality and the hotel’s development across several generations remain an important part of its identity to this day.
